This is a translation of our Romanian terms and conditions, for the convenience of English-speaking visitors. If anything here differs from the Romanian version, the Romanian text is the one that applies.

By accessing and using this website, you agree to the terms and conditions set out below. The Association may update them periodically, without prior notice. We recommend checking this page whenever you return to the site.

Definitions

• The Association: Asociația Humanimals, a non-governmental, non-profit organisation, legally registered in Romania.
• The Website: the domain www.humanimals.ro and all its subpages.
• User: any individual or legal entity who accesses and uses the website.
• Donor: any individual or legal entity who makes a donation through the website.

Copyright and intellectual property

The website's content (text, images, video, graphics, logos) is the exclusive property of Asociația Humanimals and is protected by copyright law. Reproducing, distributing or using these materials for commercial purposes is prohibited without the Association's written consent.

How the website operates

The Association reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue the website, or any of its sections, at any time, without prior notice. Access may be limited in justified cases, such as technical maintenance or updates.

Donations

By using the donation feature on the website, the user agrees to provide real, correct and complete information. In exceptional cases, the Association reserves the right to request additional data to validate a donation.

Donations made through integrated platforms (e.g. Stripe, PayPal, Revolut) are processed by authorised partners. The Association does not store and does not have access to bank card details or other sensitive financial information.

Donation refund policy

Donations made on the website are considered voluntary contributions and cannot be refunded. If you suspect a technical error (e.g. double processing), please contact us at contact@humanimals.ro within 3 working days of the transaction. Full details in the Donation refund policy.

Policy on accepting donations

• Accepting any contribution, donation or grant is at the discretion of Asociația Humanimals. The Association will not accept any gift unless it can be used or spent in accordance with its purpose and mission.
• No irrevocable gift will be accepted, whether a direct gift or a life-income arrangement, if, under any reasonable circumstances, the gift would endanger the donor's financial security.
• The Association will refrain from giving advice on the tax or other treatment of donations and will encourage donors to seek guidance from their own professional advisers.
• The Association will accept cash donations or publicly traded securities. Gifts of in-kind services will be accepted at the Association's discretion.
• Certain other donations — real estate, personal property, gifts in kind, illiquid securities, and contributions whose source is not transparent or whose use is restricted — must be reviewed before acceptance.
• The Association will provide receipts to donors who meet the tax requirements for goods received as donations.
• Asociația Humanimals will respect the donor's intent.

Limitation of liability

Asociația Humanimals is not responsible for direct or indirect damages caused by:

• use of, or the inability to use, the website;
• data loss, computer viruses or other technical errors;
• the content or accuracy of information provided by third-party partners or collaborators.

The website is provided "as is", without explicit or implicit guarantees of continuous functionality.

Protection of personal data

Humanimals complies with applicable data-protection law (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, GDPR). For more details, see the Privacy policy.

Use of the website by minors

The website may be accessed by people under 16 only with the consent and under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian. We do not encourage collecting personal data from minors without the explicit consent of an adult.

Governing law

These terms and conditions are governed by Romanian law. Any disputes will be settled amicably, and failing that, referred to the competent courts in Romania.
